CCK TM Ventilation and Air Conditioning Automation Systems
CCK TM ventilation automation systems are designed to control air handling units, individual fans, modern air conditioning systems, heat pumps and smoke control equipment. Solutions are developed taking into account equipment configuration, electrical power, operating algorithms and the requirements of each specific project.
The automation system coordinates the operation of fans, water, electric and steam heaters, cooling coils, heat recovery units, heat pumps, pumps, air and water dampers, monitors operating parameters and implements the required protection and emergency algorithms.
CCK TM offers both individual automation components and complete control cabinets for ventilation, climate control and smoke control systems. This makes it possible to select ventilation automation according to the equipment configuration and the required control functions.
Functional Capabilities of Ventilation System Automation
Control algorithms are configured according to the equipment configuration and operating modes of the ventilation system. Depending on the configuration, ventilation automation can provide:
control of AC and EC fans;
capacity control using variable frequency drives;
control of air dampers;
regulation of water, electric and steam heaters;
control of water and refrigerant cooling coils, as well as integration and control of heat pump operation as part of air conditioning and air heating systems;
control of plate and rotary heat recovery units;
control of pumps, mixing units and control valves;
maintaining the required temperature and humidity levels and optimizing energy efficiency;
monitoring pressure differential across filters;
monitoring the operation of fans and actuators;
protection of water heat exchangers against freezing;
protection of electric heaters against overheating;
monitoring and safe operation of steam systems;
generation and indication of alarm signals;
equipment operation according to time schedules;
equipment redundancy and automatic changeover;
transmission of operating parameters, statuses and alarms to a building management system.
The set of functions is determined by the technical specification and can be adapted to a specific air handling unit or building engineering system.
CCK TM Automation Cabinets and Control Systems
CCK TM manufactures and supplies automation cabinets for supply, exhaust and supply-and-exhaust ventilation systems, individual fans and smoke control systems. Depending on the equipment configuration, the ventilation automation controller implements the specified control algorithms, monitors operating parameters and interacts with actuators.
F-SAU — complete control cabinets for supply and supply-and-exhaust air handling units, including systems with integrated heat pumps and various types of heaters. They provide control of fans, air dampers, water, electric and steam heaters, cooling coils, heat recovery units, pumps and other functional sections.
A-SAU / B-SAU — automation systems for ventilation units with various configurations and the ability to implement the required control algorithm according to the equipment configuration.
SAU-PPV / SAU-SPV — fan control cabinets designed for starting, stopping, protecting and monitoring electric motors.
SAU-VK — control cabinets for fans in supply and exhaust ventilation systems.
For smoke control systems, specialized SHTORM series control cabinets are used:
SHTORM-V — control of smoke exhaust and pressurization fans.
SHTORM-VL — control of specially designed smoke exhaust fans.
SHTORM-K — control of fire and smoke dampers.
SHTORM-L-K — control of smoke exhaust hatches and associated actuators.
In addition to standard versions, CCK TM develops and supplies control cabinets according to the technical specification of a specific project. These solutions can also be used for specialized engineering systems, including ventilation systems for shelters, taking into account the requirements of the facility and equipment configuration.
Automation of Supply and Supply-and-Exhaust Air Handling Units
Supply-and-exhaust air handling units require comprehensive control of all functional sections and precise maintenance of the specified indoor climate parameters. For this purpose, supply ventilation automation coordinates the operation of the main equipment and implements the required control algorithms.
The system coordinates the operation of supply and exhaust fans, air dampers, filters, heaters, cooling coils, heat recovery units and heat pumps, which are now included in many energy-efficient projects. For water heat exchangers and systems with heat pumps, automation provides control of circulation pumps, three-way valves and protection algorithms, including freeze protection.
For electric and steam heaters, the system can provide staged or continuous power regulation using analog control or solid-state relays, as well as temperature monitoring and comprehensive overheating protection.
Fan capacity can be regulated according to temperature, pressure, air quality parameters such as CO₂ and humidity, or an external control signal. Variable frequency drives are used for fans with AC motors, while 0–10 V signals and digital interfaces are used for EC fans.
Control of Individual Fans and Ventilation Systems
For systems that do not require comprehensive automation of a supply-and-exhaust air handling unit, separate fan control cabinets can be used. Depending on the design, a ventilation automation control panel can be used to start equipment, select operating modes and monitor the main system parameters.
Such solutions are used for exhaust, supply, roof, duct and other types of fans and can provide direct or remote starting, capacity control, electric motor protection and operating status monitoring.
Depending on the project, it is possible to control a single fan or a group of fans, implement duty/standby operation, automatically switch to standby equipment and transmit status signals to an external building management system.
Automation of Smoke Control Systems
CCK TM also specializes in smoke control ventilation automation and control of fire protection equipment. Smoke control ventilation requires coordinated operation of fans, dampers and other actuators according to a predefined sequence.
SHTORM series cabinets are used to control smoke exhaust and pressurization fans, fire and smoke dampers, smoke exhaust hatches and other actuators.
The automation system executes predefined operating sequences after receiving a signal from the fire alarm system, monitors equipment status and generates the required operating or fault signals.
Building Management System (BMS) Integration
Ventilation automation in modern industrial and commercial buildings can operate independently or be integrated into the building's overall management and monitoring system — BMS (Building Management System).
Integration allows operating equipment parameters, operating modes, including heat pump operating parameters and heating stages, actuator positions, warnings and alarm signals to be transmitted to the BMS.
Depending on the controller used and project requirements, industrial communication protocols such as Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, BACnet and other interfaces can be used, enabling centralized monitoring and improved energy efficiency across the building's engineering infrastructure.
